The 300+ pages were worth it! This is the tale of Adam, Roger the minstrel's son's, adventures. Adam of the Road is a very detailed book, less than a year of Adam's life spread out across 300 pages. That is one of the things I liked about this book, all of the details. Historical fiction lovers will love the facts about the time period. It is also a book for adventure lovers.

Only eight books to go!
I think this is my favorite Newbery book of the ones I have read so far. I used to be a traveling musician myself! Adam is a worthy hero; not too good and his daring is closely connected to his own desires.
ReplyDeleteJudy,
ReplyDeleteYou should read A door in the wall, it has a traveling musician in it, too. What do you play?
