A Long Way From Chicago

During the first book in this series, you meet the unforgettable Grandma Dowdel. She's silly and cantankerous. In lots of ways, she reminds me of my great grandmother. Since reading this book, I have been in love with Richard Peck. Some of my other favorite Richard Peck books are the other two books in this series (I will post about those today), Here Lies the Librarian, and The Teacher's Funeral. What a wonderful introduction to Grandma Dowdel!
