Young Fu: Of the Yangtze

I really liked this book. It just didn’t cut it among the best children’s books. This story took place in 1920’s China and is about a Chinese youth named Young Fu. He was apprenticed to a coppersmith. This was a great adventure to read, mostly because I liked the style of the author, I felt like I was looking at the story of Young Fu’s experience through her eyes. Before reading this book I know about China from watching the Olympics and researching Giant Pandas. I liked learning about the history of this magnificent country. I would recommend this book to kids who like adventures.
