Holes

This one was odd, but a little enjoyable. I sort of felt bad for the boy because it wasn't his fault (Stanley, the main character, gets sent to a juvenile detention camp when he finds a pair of shoes that someone stole from Clyde "Sweet Feet" Livingston). It was a little hard to read, not lots of hard words hard, but you don't really want to know what happens hard. This book was alright, but not too great.

  1. I like this book because of the way the stories overlap and cross over each other. As a teacher I also like it becuase students that don't like to read like it!

  2. I agree with Pat. This is a book that boys really like which is great because some boys aren't that into fiction. I'm a librarian and I take books to a juvenile detention center (very different than the one in the book). All the kids there like it!

I think this book was great. Stories overlap, it has lots of good morales, and it is very complex. I would suggest this book to anyone, but I think they should not watch the movie. That was not enjoyable for me. I give Holes five stars!
