Let's Talk about Harry Potter

That, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets all made the FUSE Top 100  all made the FUSE Top 100 is no surprise to me. JK Rowling’s books have been some of the most popular children books in my lifetime and some people say in any time. I was at the “young” end of the original Potter craze; my parents talk about how often the books looked even bigger than me when I read them. Now I have read the series several times over and had the added bonus of listening to them being read by Jim Dale as audio books on family car trips. If you haven't heard these audio books yet, go RIGHT NOW and get them, they are amazing!

Like all of the kids who read the Harry Potter books, I wished that I could go to Hogwarts, be a witch, and study magic. I especially loved reading about Harry and his friends riding broomsticks and playing Quidditch. Why can’t Muggles be magical or at least witches and wizards be real? How I wish that I could be magical… I don’t have to convince many people that the Harry Potter books are great; I just hope that kids continue reading them for years to come. I know I will!!!

  1. I love Harry Potter! (I mean, who doesn't?)

I'm curious, now that you're starting the FUSE Top 100 list, how many had you already read on the list? I'm guessing since you've read all the Newbery's that would give you a pretty good head start.

  2. I have read 62 of the FUSE top 100 so far, so I have a good start. It has already made me read books that I might not have picked, but ended up likeing, The Hobbit! Have you read them all? Have you read any 2010 books you think might be Newbery winners? I LOVE books!

  3. I had 51 from the list already read. Since I decided to start reading them, I've read 17 in the last two months. Not TOO bad, but I have a feeling you're going to beat me :) I've liked most of what I've read and it's been a pretty good experience since it's gotten me to read a ton of the classics that I, embarrassingly, had never read before (like Charlotte's Web, Secret Garden, Anne of Green Gables - I'd list more but I'm already ashamed lol).

I'm really bad about reading new books (childrens or otherwise) so I haven't read the potential 2010 Newbery's yet. I'll have to check out your reviews for them again and see if I can't track some of them down :)
