The Night Fairy

I loved the story of Flory and her journey from being a night fairy to being a day fairy and on, but I felt that it was very simple.  Flory's adventure was lots of fun to read about, although it sometimes seemed too easy for me.  I would recommend this book to younger kids or kids looking for a fast, enjoyable read.  The magic of the fairies will appeal to lots of readers.  I'm not sure if it is complex enough to be a top contender for the Newbery, but only the judges know.

Good Masters! Sweet Ladies! Voices from a Medieval Village

This is a collection of lots of short stories told from the view point of each speaker. Together they tell the story of a Medieval Village. I didn't like this book as much as I had hoped. It felt kind of lame and not appealing. I think I will read it again someday, maybe it is the type of book I will like better when I'm older.
