King of the Wind

The most famous story about a boy and his horse is Black Stallion, but Black Stallion didn't win the Newbery. King of the Wind is the only book about a boy and his horse that did win, and I think it deserved the medal. Unlike most books that are the only one of their kind and won the Newbery, this one deserved it. I was drawn into the world of Agba, a mute orphan, and Sham, his horse, and I couldn't get out. I've always wanted a horse, but our farm is only equipped for pigs and dogs and cats and fish. Maybe when I grow up I will have a horse like Sham.
